I’m a somewhat fair white gal in her late 40’s. Have had a lot of freckles but have started to diminish and strawberry blonde hair and also have vitiligo on my legs, behind my knees, spots on my feet and hands, big areas on my thighs, on my shoulders, chest, belly, some on my arms and very small area on my face. My dermatologist has given me a rx of a cream for face and separate for my body. I’m just not sure if I want to go through the process. She also told me the reason I have it is because I have a few autoimmune disorders plus, trauma to my skin like a dog bite and scratchmarks from our pets, nics from shaving on my legs, really bad sunburn when I was a kid and surgical procedures. I use sunscreen in the summer. I think it is cool and it doesn’t really bother me since I have seen other people have this problem. So, I don’t know how the cream will make my skin look in the process of fixing it since it takes so long. Do I just deal with it and don’t do anything or do I do something to improve my skin?
Camouflaging/covering Vitiligo is a very personal choice. Some people cover all the time, some of the time or not at all. It’s your choice and you should feel great about whatever option you choose.
