The impact of access to camouflage
For many people living with vitiligo, access to camouflage is about far more than appearance. Studies have shown that vitiligo can significantly affect confidence, social comfort, and overall quality of life. Research has also demonstrated that camouflage can help improve quality of life by reducing self-consciousness and helping individuals feel more comfortable in everyday interactions.
Because confidence can influence how someone shows up at school, work, social gatherings, and within their community, we believe access to camouflage should not be limited by geography or financial barriers.
A History of Community Support
Long before the launch of the Zanderm Confidence Access Program, Zanderm had already been supporting vitiligo communities worldwide through donated samples, educational outreach, and partnerships with patient advocacy groups.
Over the years, we have contributed product support to organizations, awareness events, and community initiatives across multiple countries – including large-scale donations in Kenya through VISOKE (Vitiligo Society of Kenya).
These experiences helped shape the vision for a more sustainable, long-term access model focused on education, shade guidance, and continued affordability.
We are pleased to share that the presence of the Zanderm products at our clinic has helped shift perceptions and stimulated meaningful conversations on cosmetic camouflage as part of vitiligo care.
